It happens every year that I have far too many seconds taking space in my already jam packed studio. Every kiln load, there are just some pieces that aren’t as perfect as I had hoped they would be. I’ve been told I am a little bit of a perfectionist, and I think you will see everyone at the guild has their own high standards to what makes it as a cream of the crop piece of handmade ceramics and what will be sold at big discounts during the Seconds Sale. Sadly, there are some pieces that never make it past a hammer and a garbage can… (Luckily those have become few as I’ve gotten more experienced and sometimes they end up at my house!)

I look forward to seeing you at The Berkeley Potters Guild the first two weekends of May. I will have some new porcelain vase forms, lots of seconds and hopefully some new experimental pieces I have been making incorporating screen printing back into my practice.
